Tourist`s testimonials

Dear Anastasia

I just want to thank You for sending Maria to guide us.
We had two fantastic days in St.Petersburg with Maria.
I have traveled extensively throughout the world and met many guides.
Maria was outstanding. Efficient, well prepared, friendly, charming, humor that suited us.
Yes, all of us were simply in love with her .
We will be happy to recommend her to our friends.
When I come back, she's given as a guide.
Thank you and have a good time

Dear Stasy,

Just want you to know that we loved our time in St. Petersburg.  Olga was absolutely fabulous to be with and was so knowledgeable.  She was certainly the right guide for our family.  She was so patient with all of us – adults and children – and we so appreciated her good humor and guidance.

Thanks so much for all you did in making me look good!!  After all, I was the one responsible for getting all 13 of us around in St. Petersburg, and you made my job successful.

We wish you continued success in your business.  I was very impressed with your customer contact and promptness of all your replies to questions.

 Thanks again,

Jo Fusco, 4-5 June 2012, Cruise ship.

It's been three years since we were in St. Petersburg but it is one of our favorite memories and having Anastasia as our guide made it one of the best trips we've ever taken. She treated myself, my husband and our two children as if we were family and showed us her city proudly and with love. Her passion and knowledgeof St. Petersburg made the tour fascinating and by the end of the trip, she was more like part of our family than our guide. If you are going to St. Petersburg, you must contact Anastasia to have her show you her city.

Our guide in St Petersberg, Alex was provided by Anastasia Obukhova. Alex was professional, friendly and was a very good driver.

Her knowledge and experience meant we avoided long queues, saw the most important things and made the best use of our time in that amazing city.
We highly recommend her.

St. Petersburg is so impressive, with its outstanding treasures, but we would not have been so successful in our journey without the support of our guides. We strongly recommend two things to everyone who wants to visit this amazing city:

1)       if you can, runaway from the usual tourist packages all included, take at least four days and don’t fear for the fact you don’t speak Russian;

2)       get in touch with Anastasia at stasy.guide@gmail.com and tell her all your expectations. It is as simple as that!

Just to give you an idea, we asked to have someone to pick us at the airport, we sent a photo and the transfer was cheaper than the taxi. Museum tickets where delivered in advance to the hotel and we avoided crowded queues. We had the opportunity to go to restaurants tourists won’t discover, enjoy the Hermitage without being annoyed by crowds of tourists who came by Ship and had to rush thru without the opportunity to really appreciate the unbelievable collection, and so on.

Anastasia’s team is extremely friendly, so fluent you don’t even notice they are not speaking their mother language and highly prepared. Could not be better!

Gerard and I would like to thank you ever so much for contributing to make our trip such an utter success and pleasure. We really appreciated your knowledge, your readiness to please, your making everything and everywhere so easy to access by your know how, your truly pleasant company, your ever ready smile, your flexibility and your understanding of our needs. St Petersburg is a truly magnificent and memorable city, but with you guiding us it was like visiting it with a friend, which made it even more special.

It is a pleasure for my wife Krisse and me to share with you, why we always recommend to our friends, colleagues and others who ask for advice, to turn to Stasy when they want a guided tour in St Petersburg or in its surroundings. Our first tour downtown on a winter day in 2007 touched our hearts fundamentally. During the limited time we had at our disposal , Stasy took us to a few places and buildings which were important to her and showed us monuments and pieces of art which she loved. That brought us straight into the Russian soul and revealed the impact of history for the Russian people.

What a wonderful contrast to experiences of breath taking previous guided tours stuffed with far too many details passing in through the one ear and out through the other!

"We visited St. Petersburg in May and only had two days for sightseeing. We could not have been in better hands than Stasy's. Or itinerary included the Hermitaqe, the ballet, the Church of Spilled Blood and Peterhoff and White night\'s cruise. With her help we did it all! We highly recommend her services."

" When looking for a private guide in St Petersburg I was very happy to find Anastasia Obukhova, Stasy. In late June, 2007 Stasy was my guide for two days - the first day being a comprehensive city tour incl the Hermitage and the second day a full day tour of Tsarskoye Selo and Peterhof. I can recommend Stasy to any individual or small group of visitors wanting a private tour of St Petersburg. Stasy is not only a knowledgeable guide but also a pleasant and charming person who will make your stay in St Petersburg a memorable one. I wish her the best of luck in the future and I will be glad to be of assistance if anyone wish to contact me in this matter. Stasy can help you get in touch with me by providing my email address."

"My wife and I were very pleased to have Stasy for our guide in beautiful St. Petersburg the last part of October, 2007. We took an overnight train from Vilnius to St. Petersburg and when we stepped off the train there was Stasy to meet us. It was awesome to have someone local with a smile and a car to meet us and not worry about getting to the hotel. That was a nice introduction to the city.

She was our lovely guide for 3 days. One day we drove out of town to Puskin and saw a couple of palaces. The other two days we spent seeing St. Petersburg. Stasy even climbed the stairs of St. Isaac's Cathedral with us. St. Petersburg is a beautiful city but a guide is essential, in my opinion.

What I liked about Stasy was that she was very flexible and accommodating. If we wanted to stop in a cafe and have some local food she would do whatever we wanted. Being able to have this type of experience was fun.

I know Stasy thought I took too many pictures but she was patient and a very knowledgeable about all the sites we visited. When I lost my cell phone Stasy went to great lenghts to help me find it. Unfortunately, I lost it again in Riga!

You know the tv commercial about the American Express credit card, "Don't leave home with out it." Well, in my opinion, this applies to St. Petersburg. Don't leave home without first arranging Stasy for your guide unless your Russian is a lot better than mine. A guide is important in getting oriented in a city as big as St. Petersburg.

Last comment. I did contact another guide in St. Petersburg from a travel agency and their rates were a lot more than Stasy's. I felt her rates were very resonable and a bargain and she was very pleasant to be with. I highly recommend her!

My friends and I hired Stasy. She was extremely professional and at the same time was very warm and friendly. She was concerned that our sightseeing goals would be met. She asked many questions and then combined all of our desires into our two days of sightseeing. She planned everything perfectly and had a complete knowledge of all of the sights that we visited (from the Hermitage to the Summer Palace).

She also planned our dinners and picked perfect restaurants, so that we were able to experience Russian cuisine. At dinner she talked about Russian culture and answered all of our questions about her homeland. I would highly recommend Stasy to anyone who wants the perfect St. Petersburg vacation. She made our trip an unforgettable experience!"

"I recently visited St Petersburg and enlisted the help of a private guide (Stacy). She assisted me with everything from finding a suitable hotel prior to my trip, to shopping, sightseeing, cultural activities, findings restaurants and even a short break into the mountains for skiing.

From the moment I arrived, I felt completely comfortable with her approach which was underpinned with warmth and friendliness (which is only common amongst good friends in Russia). Stacy’s knowledge of the city was impressive to say the least and there were often facts and rituals she could recite which were not to be found in any city guides or tourist books.

As in every culture there are subtle sensitivities that only locals are familiar with. Stacy was exceptionally helpful in this respect by ensuring that I was aware of them and could blend into society rather than feel the cold shoulder of a local who had been offended by an insensitive foreigner. With Stacy’s help I also made exceptional and unique experiences which made my trip unforgettable. One of these included a short country trip especially arranged for a “crazy” South African guy that wanted to learn how to Ski at short notice.

Another such experience was the traditional Banya and Sushlek! I also visited some local “hang-outs” which were quite “Xtreme”! However, the more subdued activities as can be experienced in the local Jazz clubs and exceptional restaurants balanced my views on the city and it’s great people.

In essence, it was clear to me that Stacy could arrange just about anything I requested from the best opera and ballet performances to the most quaint dinner setting, to a night on the town, to gambling, to a typical neighbourhood (authentic Russian) experience.

With Stacy’s help, I also made some business contacts from time to time. I look forward to returning to St Petersburg soon and will certainly make use of her services again be it for business or leisure. Her professional demeanor, wealth of information and great contacts make her services applicable to business and leisure travelers and she easily caters for singles, groups or families alike."
